Florent Kaiser at ChangeNOW 2026: Culture and Community as the Foundation of Restoration

We’re proud to share that Florent Kaiser, CEO of Global Forest Generation, spoke at ChangeNOW 2026, the world’s largest event for climate solutions. As part of the session, “Rio Trio Synergies to Restore Land, Climate & Biodiversity,” Florent joined Tim Christophersen, Vice President for Climate Action at Salesforce, for a fireside chat exploring what it truly takes to restore ecosystems at scale.

Florent challenged a common misconception: that restoration is primarily a business or policy agenda. While innovation and private sector investment are essential, he emphasized that the most powerful and lasting change is happening at the community level, driven by culture and collective identity. Florent made clear that restoration is not a short-term effort. Acción Andina is designed as a 100-year movement — one that has already planted nearly 20 million trees across a mountain range stretching 9,000 kilometers from Venezuela to Patagonia. He also spoke to how ancestral knowledge and modern technology are not in contradiction: partnering with organizations like Salesforce has allowed Acción Andina to coordinate thousands of community leaders, track impact, and channel funding all the way to the ground level, without losing sight of the cultural roots that hold it all together.

At Global Forest Generation, we believe that restoration is not just an environmental fix, but a deeply human solution. GFG continues to play a vital role in scaling this vision, not by exporting models, but by supporting local leaders and cultures to grow their own regenerative practices from within.
