Warmi Kewiñas: Guardians of Forests
In Bolivia, women are cultivating the foundations of future forests. The Warmi Kewiñas in the High Andes are leading restoration rooted in care, knowledge, collaboration, and connection to the land. From collecting cuttings to nurturing seedlings in nurseries and planting across the landscape, their work helps restore forests, protect water, sustain their communities, and create a more resilient future for generations to come. A special thank you to the United Nations for their support in creating this video.
This short video highlights the leadership and dedication of the Warmi Kewiñas as they heal and protect their ancestral lands. With Acción Andina partner Faunagua, GFG is proud to support these women in transforming local knowledge into a lasting environmental legacy for Bolivia and the high Andes.
