Florent Kaiser at ChangeNOW 2025: Forests as a Solution for Water Security

We’re proud to share that Florent Kaiser, CEO of Global Forest Generation, spoke at ChangeNOW 2025 — the world’s largest event for climate solutions — held at the Grand Palais in Paris.

As part of the session, “Securing Our Water Future,” Florent highlighted how Acción Andina is helping address water scarcity by restoring native Polylepis forests in the high Andes. These forests act as natural water towers, capturing moisture and supporting watershed health for 90 million people downstream.

Florent emphasized that local leadership and ancestral knowledge are essential to long-term water resilience, and that restoration is not just an environmental fix, but a deeply human solution. Global Forest Generation has played a vital role in turning this vision into a coordinated, international effort by providing long-term financing, management systems, and technical support to enable massive community-led restoration. GFG’s broader mission is to take this model globally — not by exporting solutions, but by supporting local leaders and cultures to scale their own regenerative practices.

Acción Andina won in the ‘Protect and Restore Nature’ category. The announcement was made in early November 2023, during an awards ceremony.
